My site isn't restricted to antique collecting but to anything that is a collection or collectible. To include some history of such items and how they may have got their start. For those who do have a special something they collect is as unique as that individual. That collection could be small and insignificant to others yet a personal and cherished collection to that person. I, personally know of a few individuals that collect things that are out of the ordinary. Strange but true beginnings and yet a collectible. For instance, one real good friend collects fishing lures. All his life he had been and is fascinated by the sport of fishing and he admits that the lures where an early interesting "tool" to catching certain types of fish or for certain fishing spots. Another friend collects sand. Yes, believe it, different sand from all parts of the world. This particular friend believes her interest started from very early childhood where she lived in Utah and that is where she began to learn how to walk. The sand was just a big sandbox to her and presented fond enough memories that it stayed a secret interest. She reached a young adult age and had the privilege to travel in her job and began collecting the sand from each area she had visited. Yet, another friend had lost one special bird friend and since that bird's demise she has collected every picture, item or toy that reminds her of her buddy Topper - a Lori parrotlet. So, yes collectibles are unique, interesting and all have a certain story to tell. Makes life just that more interesting on a person level.
